FIFA Prayer

Major Events

About the Event

This year, the FIFA World Cup Games will be held in the US, Mexico, and Canada beginning June 12 and culminating with the World Cup match in New York on July 19.

It is estimated that 6 million fans will travel to the U.S. for the 77 games to be played in 11 U.S. cities. Nine games will be held here in Dallas.

We will begin Praying now, as preparations are being made for the games, and continue interceding during and after each game.

The FIFA World Cup is a wonderful opportunity to showcase America and the goodness of God, and we Pray that all who participate will be blessed.

Prayer Points

The FIFA Prayer initiative has been organized to focus intercessory prayer on the event:

Pray for safety and security of the players and fans at the FIFA games.
Pray for safety, peace and blessings in the cities where the games are being held.
Pray that visitors to the U.S. will be properly vetted and that no one uses the event as a cover for terrorism.
Pray for the Christian Evangelical outreaches planned for the event.

Gambling in Texas

Spheres of Influence

Last year, we sent out a prayer alert warning of the Las Vegas Casino campaign to bring legalized gambling and sports gambling to Texas.

We prayed that God would put the cross of Christ in the gearbox of the gambling machine.

The Lord is answering our prayers. On June 1, 2025, a Dallas Morning News front page story about gambling headlined "Casino, Sports Gambling Losing Ground in Texas." The story states that gambling is a non-starter in Dan Patrick's Senate and lost support in the Texas House after most of the 26 new House Republicans opposed gambling. Christians and Christian Organizations like the Baptist General Convention are given credit for leading the effort against gambling in Texas.

However, the gambling forces are regrouping for another effort, so we must remain vigilant.

Gambling robs from the poor and gives to the rich, destroying many lives in the process.

Keep praying that this evil will not come to Texas.
